Potatoes Au Gratin is a classic potato side dish that you can make quickly and easily!
5 cups thinly sliced peeled potatoes
1 medium chopped leek
4 slices of bacon
1 cup of grated Parmesan or / shredded cheddar cheese
Cooking cream 15%
1/4 cup of milk
Salt and Pepper
Preheat oven to 350°F
Begin by slicing the potatoes as thinly and uniform as possible. Place the sliced potato in a cooking rectangular baking pan. Overlap the potato slices just slightly.
In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the sliced bacon, sliced leek and salt, and pepper until smooth.
Gradually add cooking cream. Cook and stir 2 minutes or until thickened. Add the milk just a little at a time as you stir. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from heat; stir on the potatoes.
Bake potatoes 40 minutes to 350°F. Reduce oven temperature to 300°F and top potatoes with Parmesan. Continue to bake until potatoes about 20 minutes longer.
Let gratin rest 10 minutes before serving.
